About the projectWhy Dyslexia Ease exists
This page explains the story behind the extension and the idea that started it.
The idea came first
In the modern world there is no shortage of tools. What matters more is the idea behind them. The core idea behind Dyslexia Ease is simple: if a page is tiring to read, the page should adapt to the reader instead of forcing the reader to fight the page.
This project is not trying to solve everything. It is trying to solve a specific cluster of reading problems honestly and usefully. No more, no less.
The problem it addresses
Some pages become exhausting before the text itself becomes difficult. Narrow reading columns, heavy clutter, awkward spacing, distracting side panels, and weak focus create friction that builds up paragraph by paragraph.
Dyslexia Ease exists to reduce that friction. It gives people with dyslexia and similar reading difficulties more control over how a page feels while they read.
A practical reading tool, not a promise machine
Dyslexia Ease does not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure anything. It is a practical reading support extension. Its value should come from the real experience of reading becoming calmer, clearer, and less tiring.
Built to keep improving
The first version focuses on layout, width, spacing, and paragraph focus. The next major planned feature is manual reading-area selection, because real websites do not always make the right content block obvious. After that, text-to-speech is planned for a later version.
